PiDP-8/I: RECREATING THE PDP-8/I

Introduction

 

The PiDP-8/I is a modern replica of the 1968 PDP-8/I computer.

 

It's open-source hardware, so schematics, design files & software are available here. As long as my stock of custom 'replica' switches lasts, I am also producing kits. There are large volume discounts on some of the other parts, so group ordering parts for a kit makes sense. 

 

The sections to the left describe the PiDP in more detail. The web already contains lots of PDP-8 information, so these pages focus on the practical PiDP aspects: how to build & operate a PiDP-8 and importantly, what on earth to do with it...
